About us
The Lesotho Youth Summit was initiated by young people, for young people. Its purpose is to educate, empower, and equip young people with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute positively to society. By promoting patriotism and encouraging youth to identify the challenges they face, the summit seeks to help them create solutions and engage with relevant stakeholders. The Lesotho Youth Summit marks a significant and revolutionary step toward building a brighter future for the youth of Lesotho. The second edition of the summit was held on October 07 to 09, 2024, in Mafeteng.
MISSION:
The summit`s aim is to host 500 young people (ages 18 - 35) from all districts of Lesotho, 50 ambitious, aspiring, and outstanding youth who are change-makers are identified from each district. It can be those who have solved different problems in their communities and those who have made positive impacts by addressing the needs of their community or are currently engaged in projects benefiting a community. The summit also invites young entrepreneurs who have provable growth in their businesses so that they can share their skills with other young people who are also interested in businesses and those aspiring to be in business, and uses local and legitimate (registered) businesses as examples during entrepreneurship sessions so that youth can realize the possibility of success when they decide to become innovative, different business sectors will be allowed to present and pitch their inventions.
